Invitations

I finally got a half-decent picture of the invitation. I posted the extra invites on Nov. 17, but here's the wedding invitation I made:

And in the invitation envelopes were the hotel cards:

and the RSVP card, which we decided to do as a postcard just to be a bit different:

I think the butterfly/dragonfly cutouts held the theme together pretty well. The blue card stock I printed the hotel info on tied in the wedding's color, too.

Big step

On Saturday morning, I stood in line with about 39 of my closest friends at the Framingham P.O. so that I could get the invitations' stamps hand-cancelled so that they wouldn't have to go through the machine that does it and thereby be flattened. The guy at the counter let me do it myself, which was a win-win and now they're off. Actually, most of them are already delivered, which is nice. I've already gotten compliments from my mom and from my brother Brett (thanks, B!) on them.

Now to wait for the RSVP cards to come back!

Flower girl basket -- check; stuffing invitation envelopes -- check

It seems I'm ticking things off our To Do list these days pretty efficiently. Last night, I decorated the flower girl basket (pic to come) and finished the word find rolls and stuffed the invitation envelopes.

Printing the addresses on the envelopes proved kinda tricky, seeing as how they're handmade (not by me personally) and thick. I did that yesterday, too.

Tonight I'll affix the little note about planting the envelopes (yes, they're made out of seed paper) inside the envelope and the stamps and maybe start on the wax seals if I have time.

The invites will definitely be in the mail on July 1. Or, rather, since that's a Sunday, probably by June 30, which is this Saturday. I'm pleased that I met this goal, considering all the work the invitations took. It was a tremendous amount of time, but it was very fun! I'm glad we went the homemade route and that I had enough time to do this.
